More Sandworm & More Friends! - 02/23/09 ~ 02/26/09
We’ve been hangin around these NMs everyday now and actually defeated Lambton worm for the first time. I think it’s our second encounter with the Lambton worm, the first time was when WotG expansion was first updated with Ixion and Sandworm so yeah, took us awhile to get off our asses and camp this thing. The fight was an epic one at that too and we as BBQ would have it no other way. The battle started off smooth with everyone quickly catching on how the strategy worked. Around 30-40% things got a little worrisome when Donnie being one of our tanks as Jereith lost his connection. Things were still going well, Lambton worm isn’t too difficult to tank solo with good support but then tragedy struck, the worm drew us all in and immediately afterwards or what seemed like at the same time as draw in the worm used Slaverous Gale, a wyrm-like breath attack that annihilates everyone in front of it. Needless to say almost the entire alliance was knocked the fuck out and only the one PLD and one WHM survived. The one PLD being the best PLD to ever grace Vana’diel and whose exploits are legendary among taleseekers and adventurers, that PLD being none other then the great galka Butcher. He managed to hold the big ugly one-eyed monster for about what seemed like forever but was actually 8-10 minutes. Then tragedy struck again, after scratching our way back to finishing off the Lambton worm, the great galka Butcher fell after getting knocked back out of healing range, all was lost with the only tank down but then out of nowhere Donnie appears, our second tank who d/c’d long ago. Saving the day Donnie was able to hold the worm until everyone was ready to get revenge. One thing that no NM should do is piss off a horde of BBQ BLMs and thats exactly what this NM did, and needless to say we desigmented it and salvaged some junk from it’s insides.

Sandworm & Friends! - 02/22/09
Sandworm came out from underground to feast on some campaigners before we claimed it for ourselves. Prepared for the Lambton worm but got some practice on Serket instead. A job well done by Hiaku and Frantic on spotting Sandworm.
To top the day off we got some good quality time with Cerberus!

Killin’ Kirin - 02/21/09
BBQ being one of the pioneers of TP burning Kirin and perfecting the strategy has made sky much more efficient. However the increase in number of Kirin deaths doesn’t necessarily mean an increase in the items we’re hoping to obtain. 1 out of 8 Kirins a month ago on w.legs and 1 out of 5 on w.legs this weekend, peppered along the way with osodes, n. and d. bodies, poles and cloths. Congratulations to Thunderfist on w.legs!

Ridill! Again! - 02/19/09
Fresh off a E.anjuration body from Nidhogg, we decided to go after Fafnir instead of some other HNM, turns out we made the right decision because we managed to obtain a Ridill! Congratulations goes out to Emmaliz for her new sword, which was well deserved through the many contributions she has made over time to BBQ.

Earthen Abjuration Body! - 02/18/09
We claimed Nidhogg today and quickly chopped him down while being littered with hurricane wings. But thats how we do it in Aery, lots of melee and lots of skillchains to magic bursts for hurricane wings, not a bad tradeoff. Then the unthinkable happened… 3 drops, one being an E. abjuration Bd.! Probably one of our most rare drops in BBQ. Congratulations to Ngueh who lucked out from many people on list not showing up but truely well deserved through his hard work and dedication to the LS.

Turning Up the Heat in Mount Zhayolm - 02/15/09
BBQ packed up their equipment and headed over to the obscure island off of Mount Zhayolm. We were hunting the most deadly of Cerberus type monsters, Sarameya. Over time BBQ has had great succus and failure with this crafty hellhound, we’ve defeated it in 5 minutes but yet had it annihilate us over and over again before it depops. This time around it was a little of both scenarios, the first two we found ourselves struggling, just barely defeating the first and wiping to the second. However the third and fourth we managed to eliminate our feelings of hopelessness and despair and subdued Sarameya in <10 minutes each time. Scavenging Sarameya’s lair we didn’t find really anything worth mentioning but congratulations to BBQ for sticking with it and to all those who received an item!
On a similar news story we also defeated the notorious Cerberus himself, congratulations to DW on algol! (Art by Mitsuhiro Arita)
